We are... EG - Inwardly Experiencing Jesus.  Outwardly Showing Love.

We are the student outreach ministry of the Vancouver Chinese Pentecostal Church.  We welcome everyone between kindergarten  through college (or anybody young at heart) and of all sizes, colours and personalities.  We strive to become more like Jesus in our everyday living and be His hands and feet in the world around us.  We are... EG.

I'm new here!

We want to especially welcome you!

Emerging Generations (EG) is a life group-based student ministry where we plug everyone into a life group.  Right off the bat, we make sure you meet one of our leaders and by the end of the night, get to know a few others.

How does this "Friday Night Church" work?  It's easy.  If you're in grade 5 through high school, we invite you to join us in the main sanctuary.  If you're kindergarten through grade 4, there's an awesome kids ministry downstairs.  Afraid you might get lost?  No worries!  Our cheer team is ready to greet you at the front door.  Just ask one of them or anybody with an EG badge for help.

Continue below to check out the rest of the stuff we do or if you're ready for more detailed stuff, click through the menu options across the top of the page.  As always, feel free to contact us if you have any questions!

EG Live & Kids JAM

eg live logo.png

This is our main Friday night students gatherings.  Our Lighthouse and Youth Movement meets in the main sanctuary for their EG Live experience while Kidtropolis meet downstairs for their own Kids JAM experience.

EG LIVE: We kick off at 7:30pm on most Friday nights of the month (check our calendar via the link at the top).  It starts with a quick icebreaker or group game for everyone to reacquaint with one another after a long week at school.  Then the worship team takes over and leads the crowd in music with a couple of songs before the speaker of the night comes and share a short message or thought from the Bible.  All this takes about an hour.

During the second hour, the students split into their respective ministry groups (Lighthouse & Youth Movement) where a short activity might happen before splitting into their life groups where questions are answered, life is shared and prayer for each other happens.  The students stay in these life groups for the entire school year.

We ask parents to pick up the students at 9:30pm.  Sometimes the life groups might end as early as 9:00pm but we want to give all the students a time to hang with one another without an agenda.

KIDS JAM: Kids are invited to join us at 7:30pm in our "stadium" downstairs.  After a high-energy countdown, blinking lights and a pump-up welcome, we go right into some high impact music, wacky games, and a life talk before settling down into life groups based on ages.  In these life groups, the kids will be talking about the life talk that was shared or anything thing else about life.  We want them to feel a part of a community/family, enough to share and support one another.  When the night is done, snacks will be served before the kids are on their way home.

The night is done at 9:00pm but if families have siblings in the older groups, we do provide supervision until 9:30pm.  Occasionally, we may have fun nights or even field trips but we'll let you know when that happens!

DTES OUTREACH

DTES OUTREACH

DTES OUTREACH happens every last Friday of the month.  Our students are given the opportunity to impact the world around them.

Adopt-a-Block: In this unique student-led outreach, we send teams of students to the Downtown East Side through our Adopt-a-Block initiative to bring love and hope to the people on the streets.  Through food as a medium, our students strike up conversations to build relationships before offering a prayer of blessing.  Through this initiative, we have adopted East Hastings, East Cordova, Oppenheimer Park and Pigeon Park.

We also run a bigger outreach event near Christmas and on Good Friday.  More information can be found by clicking on the links in the above navigation bar.

Meet the Team

Like the Redwoods, we believe that a healthy team is a team that relies on each other... to hold up one another... to work together in unity and with a single vision.  Meet the team that makes it all happen.
